| COURSE DESCRIPTION: : This course will build upon the knowledge and skills learned in RS1.
RS2 will cover: Information in building collapse and shoring (covers construction types, collapse patterns, advanced shoring methods, hazard recognition, and confined space considerations); power tool operation and Safety (covers how to use power tools, both gas and electric, USAR Task Force tools, generator use and application, use of tools in confined space environment); moving of heavy objects (covers prying, cribbing and dynamic movement of heavy objects, use of air bags and mechanical jacks). San Diego UASI will pay the registration fee of $525 for any full-time, career firefighter from the San Diego County region. No personnel costs (overtime/backfill) will be covered. Registration & Cancellation procedure will be the same as described below. PREREQUISITE: Rescue Systems 1 DATES: October 5, 7, 9, 14 & 16, 2010 -- LAST DAY TO CANCEL without financial obligation: 9.21.10 TIME: 0800-1700 LOCATION: Heartland Fire Training Facility, 1301 N. Marshall Ave, El Cajon FEE: $525.00* includes text book, and Certificate; college enrollment for (*CA residents only) (AT CURRENT FEE RATES) PPE: Fire/Rescue helmet; eye protection, safety boots, leather gloves, brush pants/coat.
