| COURSE DESCRIPTION: This training course is designed for unit-leader supervisors to use when delivering orientation training to new personnel. Presentation of the course involves a few short lecture segments, but the primary content is delivered by video and supported with small group exercises. Topic Areas Include: *Situation awareness *Basic communication responsibilities *Attitude and stress barriers *Decision-making *Teamwork principles Target Group: Entry–level personnel and those desiring to be qualified as a Single Resource Boss, and/or personnel desiring to develop their leadership skills while making the transition to Company Officer. Required for: None, required for L-280 (offered June 4 & 5, 2010) DATES: -- JUNE 3, 2010 TIME: 0830-1700 LOCATION: Heartland Fire Training Facility, 1301 N. Marshall Ave, El Cajon 92020 Students must have their Miramar College Admission application on file prior to class (www.sdmiramar.edu); mandatory college registration for this course will take place in class on first day. College enrollment fees are not included in fee listed below.
